Whether for experienced gardeners or beginners who want to get their hands dirty, community gardens give people the opportunity and space to grow their own food, socialize with other people and learn about edible gardening. In South Florida, most gardens are seasonal, operating during the peak growing season in late fall through spring, while others run year-round. Some may have waiting lists, so don’t wait until fall to call.
